Serial PIC Programmer
This kit contains the parts required to construct a programmer that uses the P16PRO software of Bojan Dobaj to program all 8, 18, 28 & 40 pin DIP serial PIC's. The P16PRO software will work under DOS, W3.1 or W95. Program Operates from your PC parallel port. Do not confuse serial programming methods with the serial port and parallel ports of a PC. Serial programmed PIC's refers to the programming algorithm by which data enters the PIC. In this method the data bytes are entered serially onto 1 pin (like a shift register) and the programming voltage is toggled onto a programming pin to latch and burn the byte.
On-board bridge rectifier gives you a full flexible range of power supply input from any power supply: 17-30VDC or 13-20VAC. (Need a Power Supply?)
Parallel programmed PIC's - 16C5X - are not supported by this programmer.
These are the PICs which CK1702 will program:
Free Software: Go to IC-Prog to find the latest version of software available. This software works with Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP and is free, but not supported.
Paid Software: P16PRO software has a 21 day trial period and works under DOS, W3.1, W9x, Me. Software expires after 21 days and you must registered it by email ($US20) at dontronics.com or with Bojan Dobaj.
This software will allow you to use most "David Tait" variant programmers to program a very large number of PIC micro devices via the Parallel Printer Port of a PC.
